EDM # 32 'Metal'

Is it a bird? Is it a plane? Space debris? No, it's a cookie cutter for this week's Everyday Matters challenge entitled 'metal'. Yesterday, I was struggling with trying not to do things perfectly and today I'm a slob because this isn't really finished but I was so fed up with those reflections that I decided I either had to finish it now or scrap it. I didn't enjoy this as the reflections changed every time I moved and I was starting to get fussy. Also, Mark gets home in one hour and I may not get quite so much time to myself on the computer (although the boys may be glad to have some hot dinners again)!

I can completely relate to the lack of patience with all the reflections. I start out being very meticulous...and then, predictably, get bored with it=get sloppy with it. Some capture the metal perfectly with just a few strokes.

Anyway, I LIKE this drawing. Maybe just one or two "hot spot" hilights would zing it. Just a thought. I love your work & comments...they sound familiar.

Another beautiful drawing Felicity! You make that metal just shine.

They may have given you fits, but those reflections are beautiful. Your work is very inspiring.

Hey! I was going to do a cookie cutter too...hope you won't think I am copying. Of course, I don't have one like yours. It's a really great drawing by the way. You really mastered the look of metal!

Felicity your draughtsmanship is superb, this and the sunglasses are amazing.

Re your comments in EDM about slow loading blogs. Poor you only having dial up - am I one of the offenders? I'm afraid I always try for the very best results (for the picture) regardless of size in case one of my business clients (who all have broadband) pop in to look.

Wow. This is one fantastic cookie cutter. If only I had such a patient as yours! The reflections are terrific.
