I find all these things around the house and garden belonging to the previous owners very interesting. Why did they choose them, why didn't they take them etc.? This little birdhouse ornament by the back doors is sweet.

This one I find a bit creepy for some reason. After I took the photo I looked underneath and it was full of ants eggs - eeeuuuww!

This one is in the front in a little patio hidden by the garage. That glass is very Miami Vice! Does anyone remember there was a shot of glass tiles like this in every episode?

More things seem to be appearing as we prune the bushes!

Yet more! Does anyone know what that marble ornament might be for? It has little ledges as if perhaps it should have candles.
And now I had better get back to work - I'm painting the ceiling of my study. It had white walls but I think the lady of the house used to sit and smoke in there so it's a dirty shade of grey now. The walls are textured so it's taking a lot longer than I thought it would. Phew! I didn't think I could admire Michelangelo any more than I already do!

Felicity, these objects have so much whimsey!
I LOVE your self portrait. Great work!!!
I enjoyed reading about your new house in Geneva and seeing all the interesting things the previous owners left behind. ha ha!
I think your self portraits came out wonderful. I still haven't tried this, amazing how I am putting it off. And now I have braces at 43, so perhaps it will have to wait another year or two until my teeth are free again. LOL
Best wishes in your new place. The views are marvelous!
Perhaps your previous owners have moved to somewhere without a garden -?
I sympathise with the ceiling painting. In a previous life when I was machine knitting in here I also used to burn scented candles. This resulted in a greasy grey ceiling with a delicate coating of wool dust! Hell to wash before re-painting. As well as no longer having the knitting business, I no longer burn candles. Good luck.
I'm amazed that the owner left so much behind! What fun finding such interesting, and sometimes just plain odd, stuff!
:-) I wonder if the little ledges on that one thing are for potted plants, or birdseed ...
It seems you never know what will be around the next shrub! LOL. All I'm finding in my new garden as I dig and get to know it, are bits of builder's rubble. Not as whimsical as a pumpkin or a duck I'm afraid! :o)
I particularly like the little birdhouse. And isn't it odd that they left all that behind? They must have thought it was part of the garden...
I'm into this type of designs cuz they can verily give contrast to rooms or to any designs imo.
